    Default White Rhino

Another shot from the series of images taken of the three Rhino's that had gathered by this watering hole, this time going tighter to isolate the subject. There is also, a 'slightly' hidden Ox pecker behind the RH ear as viewed.

Again, posting this remotely as I'm still away.

Thanks for either viewing or commenting on the previous image.

Great look at this chap! Good to see that eye clearly and nice comp with super detail. I like that strip of water at the bottom giving an idea of the habitat. Light handled expertly and colours are perfect.

    Hi Steve

Very effective POV, like the inclusion of the water where he is drinking.
Well exposed, like the shadows and darker areas.
For me the comp is a bit tight, would like to have more space in the direction he is looking at.
    Detail is amazing is always.
Very difficult not to blow the highlights on horn, you managed well.
The grass stalks in mouth adds.
You are a very brave man to shoot HH at 1/400!
    Regards

    Andre.

    Hello Steve,

Well exposed and I quite like the framing here, very effective. Superb light on the rhino's face revealing a lot of detail and the open eye a big bonus. Colours spot-on as usual:) and I did notice the little oxpecker as well as the droplets of water!

Beautifully processed and presented, just lovely

    Warmest regards,

Hi Steve - This works well and you handled what I know was harsher light well. The low pov takes this up a notch. Detail and colors looks spot on.

Nice framing with the head-turn here Steve. Light conditions handled well.
I would go stark contrast B&W on this one!

Good that you got a catchlight as well.. Not the easiest thing to do with a rhino.. Well done Steve!

Hi Steve, a well thought out comp here, and great detail showing too. The Oxpecker seems to have found some food in the ear.

Hi Steve coming very late to this nice looking rhino .
I like the comp and the side look of the subject giving you a fully lit face .
I would call this a very well processed image with great tones and nice colors , you extracted tons of detail and what i like the most are the detail in the 3/4tones , normally quite tricky to get under the harsh light conditions . So i do think you did really well with this .
And i agree with Andre regarding the real HL with good tone and detail .

So you have made a pleasing job all around . .

    TFS Andreas
