male house finch is a regular visitor here in CT. I was shooting BIF when this colorful guy perched so nicely. 1DX ISO 2500, 1/2500 f5.0. Processed in DPP. Im trying to improve my DPP/PS processing so any suggestions will be helpful. thanks, ann
Hi Ann. This image is beautiful. The bird is nice and sharp and the feather details are lovely. I like the pose and the perch. The colours of the fruit compliment the head and chest feathers of the bird very well. The snow adds to the image aswell. The only thing I would wish for is the OOF branch in the foreground be removed but, on doing this, you will lose the fruits, which adds so much to the colours on the image. The OOF branch in my opinion, is the only thing which distracts from a very nice image indeed. Well done and thanks for sharing this..
This is lovely!
Great wintery feel with the gun metal gray BG and the falling snow.
A+ for the great title!!
If only that OOF branch was not there. I would definitely clone out the branch that intersects with the tail and the little branch below that one.
That would minimize the impact significantly.
Comp is good.
The face may be oversharpened a little bit but not a deal breaker,
Gail
Sweet image Ann of this colourful finch and the wintery feel is conveyed very well. The foreground branch has already been mentioned, but lovely image.
Gorgeous red, white and gray colors, in both the bird and BG, and the perfect perch. I concur about cloning out that one vertical branch, and after that the other one should probably go, too.
Lovely image Ann, I like it a lot. The falling snow is great, and the reds in the HF and berries add such beauty to this cold winter scene. Well done.
In a perfect world it would be great if the OOF branch wasn't intersecting the tail, but nature isn't perfect... so for me the natural beauty of the scene outweighs the OOF branch. But this is from a guy who doesn't have the skills to clone it out.
Very nice work, I enjoyed it very much.
Perfect world would be nice but until we get one this image will do for me, love the wintery scene and the colourful bird, berries are a real bonus, very nice indeed.
