    Hello Behin,

Lovely image of this Great Gerbil and the pose is quite sweet. I like the way he is holding the twig in his little paws, looks kind of playful and I was hoping for a bit more info as to what he was actually doing!

I like the framing here, as well as warmth and colours. Sharpness is there in good measure and some very nice detail on the left paw. I would like to see some detail on the eye, the presence of a small catchlight would have been such a bonus but I guess not possible, given the direction of the light. Did you consider at any stage lifting exposure on the eye, during processing?

Also, I would expect to see a few twigs, or leaves, around the Gerbil - for me personally the blur on the bottom of the image is a bit too much, but this is just how I feel, let us see what the others have to say. Overall a pleasing image with beautiful colours and I certainly look forward to see more from you

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Behin - Nice pose, detail and sharpness. Love that you can see the little paw raised. For me, the blur at the bottom is a bit too much as well though it masks the cut off tail.

    Rachel

    Thank you Gabriela,
I shot these gerbil images in a desert around Isfahan, Iran. These cute gerbils climb small trees there, cut small branches with their powerful jaws & eat only small leaver on twigs while twisting the twig in their paws & then throw the twig away and go on with a new twig again and again.
In this particular pic It was not possible to get more details or catchlight on eyes. I have many other photos of gerbils with greater details and better eye cathlights but I've chosen this because I liked his unique pose.
    Regards

Hi Behin, a fun pose and I like the fact the left paw is caught in mid grasp. Nice detail in both the open paw and I like the fact the whiskers fan out. It's unfortunate that the 'visible' eye is more in shadow adding to the density, having more light and hint more detail would have helped, but this is in an ideal world. Agree on the Blur, just too much. The low POV works.

Love the POV and BG.. Some interesting action. Only nit is lack of a catchlight!

Low angle and pose rocks here!
I don't mind the foreground "mush" at all.
