Had a rare opporunity of photographing a few Flamingos in our Island.
There have been a flock of 9 Flamingos in our Island since early Nov last year. Getting close to them was next to impossible. They have been in the same pond since arriving but always very far away. Flamingos are rare here and we usually just get one in this same pond every year. These flock flew in during a storm in which 3 other died after hitting a power line. One had a band in the leg which was use to indetify where they came from. It turn out to be they are first year Flamingos born in Yucatan, Mexico. Finally after going to the pond weekend after weekend they got close and then even more close when we sat by the edge of the pond to photograph them.
