I managed to capture this Little Grebe as it swam past me, at speed, whilst I was in my portable hide on the shore of a local loch.
The breeding plumage is now starting to show.
How cute, and a perfect "look back" head angle. I like the subject's placement within the frame too. Not sure if the white spot between the eye and bill is a wet reflection or not but you could opt to remove it IMO.
I also like the bow wave William, think the spot between the eye and the bill is part of the summer plumage for this bird, did well to capture this they always seem to dive when I get on them.
Nice one Will. One of my favourite birds. Spent a lot of time with these. Love the bow wave ! I agree with Dan about the white reflection smudge. A lot of bird seem to retain a bit of water there for some reason. The bigger blob is obviously the breeding plumage bit. Soon be time to check my local site
Cheers
John

Nice little bow wake and I like the wet plumage on this little guy. The exposure and details look perfect. Well done William
