    I took this a while back, but I figured to post it for the theme contest.

    This guy flew and perched extremely close to me. I didnt have no more space to go back so this is a full frame shot @ 600mm.

    Wonderful profile Ray with terrific detail and good looking color. I'm impressed with the IQ using the 2x TC, very nice.
    I like this one a lot. Only suggestion is that I'd be tempted to clone out the small catchlight (reflection off the water?) near the center of the eye.

    Not normally a fan of portraits this tight, but the comp is so spot on that this works very well.

    Terrific portrait with lots of beautiful details. You did well to stop down from this close distance to get more within dof. If mine I'd be tempted to slightly tone down the brightest stripe on the neck, just to reduce its tendency to pull the eye. Really well done.
