Just got back from Mexico yesterday, and I was able to get a lot of new shots. This one was in the property next to where we were staying. I liked the subtle backlighting and shadows. I used the warp tool to get rid of a dark corner on the ULC, and a layer of fractalius applied, which seemed to accentuate the lines and the light. I have started to save my raw files at 360 ppi, does anyone know what difference that will make?

Beautiful! Hope the climate change wasn't too difficult!

A raw file doesn't have a resolution. That only comes in when you convert it to a .psd, .tif or .jpg (or any other format you might use). Let PS open it in whatever "scaling factor" you like, 240, 300, 360 ppi, or any one you like. The different values will only change the dimensions in inches or cm or whatever. But then don't resample it after that, except on the creation of an output file like a .jpg.

You can change the scaling factor without resampling, in the Image Size dialog. If you check Resample and change the Resolution, you are adding or subtracting pixels -- watch the file size at the top change. If you uncheck it, the file size (number of pixels) stays the same but the dimensions change.

    Make sense?

Jackie, I like the simplicity of the image. The graceful diagonal stem and opposing horizontal lines work. The subtle vertical lines are a good accent. Fractalius added a pleasing texture.

Thanks Diane I appreciate you taking the time to explain, it makes sense. The temperature change was about 100 degrees! I am waiting for the snowdrops to appear
