    Default Hardhead

This is my first post here. The site looks nice and I hope I can learn a lot. I took this photo at a lake here in Melbourne, Australia. The hardhead is a diving duck so that explains the water droplets on its head. It was diving in the shade. The water colour was due to the reflection of trees in the background.

    All feedback appreciated.

    Hi Nicole,

Big welcome to BPN and you have posted a lovely first photograph.
I think this one would have been a lot stronger if you had included the reflection of the bird by placing the bird higher in the frame as now the reflected head is cut-off.
The golden colours of the water are really gorgeous and so is the detail of the water droplets on its head.
Hope to see more of your posts soon and thank you for posting this lovely duck species!

    Greetings,

    Jeroen Stel

Hello and welcome to BPN Nicole.

What a lovely image and colors you have here. I wish for a lower angle and the full reflection in the water. The light is wonderful and the vivid colors make this image pop.

Very nice details and color of the water. I agree that it would be better if it were higher in the frame and the reflection fully visible. If possible a lower angle would have made it even better. Keep them coming.

Hi Nicole. A very nice first post. We'll look forward to seeing lots more from you and having you participate in the forums.

As for this image I think the nits have been covered. The big one here is to try to get the whole reflection in :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I wish I'd captured the whole reflection as well.
