Perfect timing with the paw just outside the eyes. TFS

Can a little bear get any cuter than this?

    Hello again Dale,

I am really jealous of your opportunities and hope to email you one day for a booking:) For now, I take delight in viewing you posts, and this is one very special capture!

The comp/crop is perfect and I like the way the subject's head is tilted to the side, as if he is peeking at you behind those paws:) I am a bit curious about your settings and wondering why you did not up the ISO for more SS? I am afraid to shoot anything that isn't absolutely still with less than, say, 1/800s

I absolutely adore the pose captured, those paws together holding the clam, those innocent looking eyes - the water droplets a bonus:)

Thank you so much for sharing,

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

That pose is to die for, Dale! Great call on the vertical presentation too.
Is the face slightly softer than the paws?

Love the eye contact and mischievous look here Dale, I know you have levelled this but could do with just a tad more CCWR.
Agree on more higher ISO/faster S/S for extra insurance.

You're going to have to live more dangerously than that setting Gabriela, (come dawn/evening time) especially with that D4 now.

True, Marc! I shot at 12800 ISO last year and happy with the results...Will go back to those images and post some

Hi Dale - What a cutie! Love the pose with the sort of cocked head and those paws give an indication of what's to come as he grows up. Vertical works great. Definite Alaska colors, tones and feel. I am presuming you were on a tripod so the ss wasn't as much of a problem.

Hi Dale , priceless pose and behavior shot from you . Luckily you have the eyes visible . Very nice POV and a great FG and BG , everything does look so clean .

To me the detail does look a bit coarse , i think you can achieve finer detail from the MK IV at that ISO range , or was the SS just simply a bit slow , better upped the ISO with hindsight .

Hi Dale, certainly this image has 'cuteness' written all over it and the timing with the raised paws is perfect, but do agree, the IQ has suffered a bit with such a slow SS, any particular reason? Like the shooting angle.

I love the pose and shooting angle. Nice all around tones and exposure.
I do feel the IQ is lacking not sure if its slow SS or if it is your sharpening technique as the subject looks a little coarse again.
Its my dream to go and photograph these guys!

Nice timing to capture the peek-a-boo look. I like the the pose, the dripping water, and the cool color pallette.
