From the time I arrived, this scene lasted about 3 sec, Just enough time to run the buffer on a 1DX. In The next set of images the Eagle had pulled the Anhinga up in the grass, and the open wing shots were done. In retrospect, I could have gotten a better angle and have taken the t/c off, but was happy to get about 30 like this.

I would love to have something remotely close to this in my files but I've never been able to see something like let alone try to photograph it. I like the behavioral aspect of this image and it tells the story without any words. Congratulations on a excellent capture of nature.

Wonderful. The 800mm makes it almost look like it's 3D. Great job with the details in the whites of the eagles head.

I would have no regrets on this one...excellent scene with powerful drama in the stuggle of life and death. Well done.

you got excellent interaction here, love the view of talons. in an ideal world we would also see the Anhinga's eye but I'll take this any day. Details are good I may just sharpen the birds a tad more for online presentation

You won the Oscar for "behavior and drama "category.
Very powerful image. Like everything about it except that pesky little bit of OOF FG in RLC but certainly not a deal breaker.
I would be thrilled to have this in my files.
    Congrats,
    Gail
