Bee-eater landscape

As per my last post I have focused a bit more on getting landscapes with birds (as opposed to flight or portrait shots).
Look forward to your thoughts on this one; a european bee-eater amongst the grasslands of Rietvlei Nature Reserve.

Hi Rich, lovely colours from the BE, and any subject posed against a Rietvlei BG works well. I realise those purple weeds are everywhere in Rietvlei, but I feel the two below the BE are a tad distracting.

I have only seen these guys once at Rietvlei, and that was a while ago.

I like how the twigs king of materialize out of the OOF weeds at the bottom. To my eye the BG on the right is somewhat superfluous - maybe a crop that frames the stand of twigs tighter. You would still get the environment effect with a nice framing, IMHO.

I like the landscape feel and look, I would however be inclined to crop a little because I think the bird is just a tad small in the frame.

Nice bird scape image. I would darken the mid tones in the bird a little to make it pop.
