    Default Anna's Hummingbird

This was taken in the summer of 2013 at a beautiful natural rock fountain at our new Kaiser Permanente Hospital. I have several nice captures of this Anna's splashing around but I like the uniqueness of this position. They don't lay there and relax, it happens in a split second and then right back to splashing around again. It's going to be tough to beat that very cool image of the Snowy bathing at the shore, but I'll add this one for fun. Hope you enjoy it.

All C&C are greatly encouraged and most appreciated. Thanks for looking at what I love to do.

Love the colors and the sharpness. very unusual pose, so TFS. without you telling us that the bird was taking a bath, I would have thought something was wrong with the bird :). Loi

I did not know what to expect from the thumbnail...I thought the little guy might have been hurt or dying! Pretty neat image here with a unique pose. I love the way the bill is sticking into the bulging bump in the water. Tough image to compose, I think you struck a good balance.

    Hey Kirk,
I am mixed on this shot. firstly exposure, sharpness, color, all excellent. Super behavior, I have never seen this and am glad you were able to show it to us. So kudos on the behavior. As did Daniel, I thought the bird was injured, so a visually pleasing pose, it detracts for me. Well done.

Many thanks everyone for your very kind and encouraging words, they are most appreciated. Based on your feedback to my previous pics, I added some sharpening to this image and found the right amount... thank you!
