Hi Rachel,
I like the bookend sagebrush and the BG rock. The color temp looks perfect for the conditions to my eye and contributes to the overall mood of the image.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Andre - I think it was just that there were 6 photographers pointing cameras at him that caused the eye contact.
Thanks again,
Rachel

Hi Rachel, I like this a lot and I feel the colour & clarity is far better than the Bob cat, but this is closer
. Not sure if it needs a little off the top and the small crevasse on the RHS filled in, but then it might look to plain? In an ideal world not having the Sage grass in front would be better IMHO, but nothing you could do and certainly no deal breaker.

PS First signs of Bears, plus notices out, it's just too warm at this time, cannot believe it!!!!!

Hi Steve - yes, this was probably a third to half the distance to the bobcat. I looked at the crevasse and cropping it out but decided it added a little depth to the image breaking up the white of the snow.
Yes, bears have been seen in Yellowstone too with the earliest being a day or two after I left. I guess it would be pretty crazy to see a bear while skiing, you'll have to use your cell for an image.
Thanks for looking,
Rachel

Hey Rachel.
This works well on all fronts. Exposure is great, framing of the canid between the shrubs and BG rock is perfect.
Subtle tones are great too.
Well done

Agree with all the positive comments above, for me it's the framing & comp along with good eye contact that takes this above the norm here Rachel.

Hi Rachel ! What a beautiful image. I really liked this one , especially the eye contact . Exposure is spot on ! The ditch in the right corner of the frame and can be cropped of , slightly distracting it is .

Hi Rachel coming in late ...... i agree with the above said regarding all what makes animate work .......
So this works fro me on all counts .... well not all . My eye is drawn to the blacks on the rock in BG , i would try to give them a more grayish look rather than the natural look you have presented , but this is just a very minor thing.

Rachel, never got back to this image... You did very well here. The 7d2 and new 100-400mm seem to perform very well. Great detail here! Well composed and the space in the UR has enough detail/texture to help hold interest!
