    I was glad to get to look through the lens at something, and this goldfinch was cooperative.

    7DII, 300 f4 with 1.4tele, 1/500, ISO 800, f8.

    Crop and temperature adjustments in lightroom. Also shadow lightening. Tonal contrast and detail extractor in NIK.

    A nice pose from a cute subject -- I love fuzzy birds! It looks good at this size. I'd experiment with just a shade less exposure, otherwise it looks like good processing to me. What would you think about removing about half the negative space on the left?

    This might be one where a very small amount of Smart Sharpen would help the JPEG.

    Would love to see more. I'd guess you live in a good area for songbirds.
