I like the horizontal composition and it may also work well with vertical crop too. Sharp and focus seems to be perfect.
Looks like image is bit on the dark.
Hi Shantanu - I agree with Sid. The image is sharp and dof good but the gazelle is a bit dark. Perhaps a vertical comp would have worked better because the image is tight at both the bottom and top but particularly at the bottom. Another thing to watch out for in the field is the tree in the bg intersecting with horns. I'm not sure if you could have moved left or right in the field to avoid it but doing so would have improved the image. Finally, I'm not sure if you cloned or blurred a branch coming down just to the left of the gazelle but there looks like there is an artifact there.
Don't forget to share your thoughts on other wildlife images each time you post. It's the best way to learn and become part of the BPN community.
I echo Rachel and Sid above regarding the gazelle being a bit dark. The pose is lovely, nice eye contact there and an expression of surprise from the subject who seems undecided whether to stay or take off:)
I notice you have forgotten to mention what equipment you are using, could you please specify this in the future? Not sure what your camera capabilities are, I just feel there's an unusual amount of noise here for ISO 1000, would be interesting to know the lighting conditions at the time and what other processing steps you have taken when editing this image. If this were mine I would add some canvas on the bottom.
Looking forward to more images from you, if you can find some spare time do look through the other images posted and give us your thoughts (or questions), the more we interact the more we learn from each other
