I managed to capture this chaffinch as it was bathing in a small stream hidden by over hanging trees. The sun was quite bright and enough rays passed through the trees to allow me to capture the image

    Thanks for looking

The lighting is really what gives a special mood to this image. A few hot white spots on the bird, but underexposing would have killed the bg I guess. I might clone out or tone down the green spot in the background, but I think it's just a matter of taste here.

I've always been a huge fan of having a beam of light hitting the subject in an image and this is a great example of one. Nice details on the bird and I love the eye contact.

Very nice William! I love the bird just sitting there in the water with a perfect head angle too. Nice details, and the dark surroundings add a really nice mood to the image. If mine I'd cropa tad off the bottom, and I agree with P-A in regards to the green spot. Well done!!

I'm really enjoying the dramatic lighting and the eye contact. The dark, natural surroundings really make this image for me. Lovely!
