At a very large puddle last May, boarding a forest nearby, captured this image as he stopped on a branch, (rather large I know) for a split second before taking off. Lifer for me.C&C welcome.

    D700, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 tc, 1/320, f 8.0, Flash fill, ISO 1250, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    Removed a few distracting branches.

Geoffrey unless we are doing set up' there is not a lot we can do about perches ,like your Thrush I do like the feet placement ,lost a bit of detail in the tail but the head/beak looks good, was this one in a darkish sort of place I ask because you mentioned flash.

Thanks Keith. Yes it was quite shaded and overcast. In this instance I wanted to keep the flash output low.

    One of my favorite Warblers.
Nice shot, perch should not be a problem when it comes to Warblers IMO.

These warblers are tough to get so you are lucky to get them. I would fix the flashed eye. Nice image Geoffrey.
