    Default West Indian Whistling Duck

Just sharing a species I dont think I have seen before in the forum. This species of Whistling Duck is the only breeding and resident duck in our Island, it is also found through the Caribbean in Cuba, Jamaica, Bahamas. It is considered a threatened species due to hunting and habitat loss. Males and female are alike and while they are not the nicest looking ducks by any means they are very charismatic and quite friendly when approached with care.

Great BG, and nice light in the eye. I am surprised by the large number of species you photograph, when I was in Grand Cayman I saw maybe 8 species in one day.

Thanks for sharing this species wit us. I like the image with the colors and light and overall IQ. I think I'd go for a tight portrait of the head and the neck.

nice head shot with good light, BG and details. A vertical would work nicely here as well

I like the HA, details, IQ, light and sweet BG. I could see this as a vertical as well but still a beauty as presented.
