    Default Purple Gallinule

I liked this "different" view of a Purple Gallinule. Shot in Florida. I was shooting off of a boardwalk downwards so I was limited compositionally. He was in dense vegetation so I wanted as little DOF as possible.

The BG is a little psychedelic, but then so is the bird, so it works for me! I like the detail in the head, and the DOF falloff also works OK in that context. I'd crop off the reed on the left edge and maybe do a gradient burn there to keep the eye on the head.
