JAI as this tiger is known as have migrated from Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary which is approximately 100kms from UK ( Umrer Karhandla ) Wildlife Sanctuary. The reason for the migration was his search for a mate which he was unable to find at Nagzira due to the absence of females from that park. UK was granted the status of Wildlife Sanctuary ( WLS ) in May 2013 as it is considered a part of Tadoba buffer and a vital corridor for dispersed tiger population and houses a few tigers'. JAI has ultimately settled in this area and has now mated with 3 females from that area and as a result UK is blessed with multiple tiger cubs.
Now that's what I call a roadblock. Nice looking cat. I like the view of the bottom of the feet. And I think the curve of the road works well with this image.
Hi Haseeb - Nice look at what looks like a relaxed but large tiger. I also like seeing the pads of the rear paws. As posted, the image looks a little flat. If it were mine I would give it a boost in the midtones and also crop to a 16x9 format eliminating some of the fg.
Don't forget to add your thoughts on other people's images. It's the best way to become part of the community and for us to all learn from each other.
Hi Hasseb, what an excellent image and one that portrays how Tigers should always be seen/viewed, in the wild and in their own environment, gorgeous and I for one would be happy to see this as my roadblock. A great angle and what a pose, resplendent in his Kingdom. Techs look good and you have achieved some lovely detail too.
Thanks for that info, I was actually thinking if you had the content, just to move the whole crop up and to reduce the FG amount, personally I feel it's a little dominant. I did try a 16x9, but I think it then goes too tight, adding a bit more i.e. 16x10 I think just adds that breathing space the subject needs. I do think the overall colour looks a bit warm, going towards the orange/yellow, I might suggest pulling back the WB and going a little cooler, however you may also need to selectively adjust the Red, Orange and Yellow via the HSL in the RAW. By individually moving them (reducing the colour) I think you will get a more reflective colour? In PS you can do the same and apply a mask so you can target the areas rather than a Global adjustment. Certainly adding some Midtone to bolster the subject helps and although it looks very well Exposed, again just fractionally dropping it just brings back some more depth back into the image. If your ethics allow, then I might remove the darker blob behind the left ear and the two leaves near the tail?
Hope this helps, but overall a very nice image to view and always a pleasure to see a Tiger.
Thank u Sir ! That clone really worked , looks more appealing than what I have posted . I was struggling to get the colors right and thought to post the way I processed, hoping that the forum members will get sorted out and it turned out to be exactly the same . Thanks a lot Steve .
thank u everyone for ur suggestions and comments ,it really makes the learning process more intersting .
Hi Haseeb, obviously without seeing the RAW it's hard to make definitive suggestions and so we can only base it on the OP, however if the feedback has help in providing another alternative it processing the image to ensure you are able to extract more and build on it, then great . Again, you have a great image/platform to work from, if you do have time to revise the image please repost, as it would be great to see.
A really impressive tiger! These big cats are all the same - love lounging in the dirt roads
You've received some good suggestions already - I actually like the OOF leading view from the foreground up to the tiger.
I look forward to more of your work here, and of course your critiques on the photos posted by others, Haseeb...
A grand image Haseeb. I prefer the greener back drop in the first post .
It is of course nice to see these animals in the wild but not possible for many of us.
Cheers

Apologies for coming in so late, been away on holiday for two weeks
Your image is a real eye-catcher, a very special sighting of this majestic tiger - Mr. Kaluski's RP certainly does it justice and brings out so much detail - would love to see your RP as well!
Sorry for the delay ! After receiving all the suggestions i have processed it yet again , pls provide your inputs on this version.
Thanks and Regards, Haseeb :)
