    Default Crab for lunch

    This not-quite breeding plumaged Sanderling was toying with this crustacean on the beach at DeWees Island, South Carolina, on a visit to friends there last week. I hope the patches of foam in the background aren't too distracting.

    D300, Nikon 80-400VR, hand-held.

    Shutter Speed (Exposure Time) = 1/3200 second
    Aperture = F9
    Exposure Bias (EV) = 0/1 = 0
    Metering Mode = spot (3)
    ISO Speed Ratings = 640

    Nice moment captured and the raised leg adds to it. I wish for a better head angle and catchlight. There is a sharpening halo and I would probably remove the foam patches.

    Hi Richard,

    Love the action. I would remove the bubbles as distracts from your main subject.

    I like it Richard,
    Nice capture and composition. I like the foam in the sand...:cool:
