What a neat and lovely hair do he has !!
    Excellent image ,Jonathan.
I like the pose, probably just landed?. Superb details in blacks and whites, beautiful colors, water ripples and water droplets above the tail and his tiny eye.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Colors are very nice and well done on the exposure. The small eye is nicely shown.

Very nice Jonathan, I know how difficult it is to get the black feather detail on the head, and you got it here. Well done

Thanks very much for the feedback. I had to do quite a bit of adjusting the darks and whites, I had overexposed slightly(deliberately) to get detail in the darks plumage because the light angle wasn't ideal. I made repeated TIFF versions using ACR and DPP4, in the end I settled for DPP4, using several pin points in the curves palette. In Photoshop I did a little more dodging and burning using the Tim Grey method prior to resizing and sharpening. I sparingly used the sponge brush on the greens and pinks to enhance the colours slightly.
