My forth shooting outing to this spot finally paid off.
I had a couple of reasonable shots of this very hard to shoot bird.
There are only two in a flock of about 150 birds of Snow Buntings.
They are in the middle of the flock most of the time, almost impossibly to separate them.
Cracked corn was used for "baiting" that I cleaned up from the snow.
    Thanks for looking.

Awesome image Karl. Nice details, exposure and angle. How are you finding the 7D II for birding??

    Thanks, Sanjeev.
My plan is to use the 5D Mark III with the 500 and the 7D MII with the 100-400 Mark II.
I rarely use the 7DM2 with the 500 and have not got enough shooting to say either way.

Karl. Looks like you are having fun with the new gear and some winter light. Very nice IQ and pretty good shooting angle from the car. Did you work the eye?

You're perseverance really paid off! A bit large in the IMO, but chock full of wonderful details. I'd try to tame the highlights on the bill, but I love the snow clump atop of it :-)

You are nailing these winter specialties, Karl. Real nice details....could be a bit looser in the frame.
