Came across this Downy Woodpecker while going through past images. This was captured in April of 2013. These characters are especially entertaining as they weave their way agilely, in this instance while dining, around the fresh Spring leaves of a Maple tree. C&C welcome.

I like the pano crop but it is a bit tight for my taste and would add about 5% on top and on the bottom.
Love the hanging upside down pose.
Did you adjust the shadows and highlights much? I feel like the blacks are washed out a bit on the head and wing.
It is nice to see something different than the usual woodpecker pose!

Thanks Gail. Love your eagle eye. I did adjust shadows and highlights and as I was about to post the image, I almost stopped thinking the blacks might need a smidgen more depth. Also gave a little more room at top and bottom. Here's the repost.

How cool! I love the upside down gripping pose (I especially like the one-toed grip of the far foot). The fresh foliage is really nice. The repost is even better. If mine I'd remove the black dot on the neck, and the bit of leaf peeking into the frame at top edge - just to give the image a cleaner finish.

A unique and heartwarming image, George. Love the RP and those green leaves and that pose just bump this image up several notches.
