    Default Shining Honeycreeper

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Canon 5DIII, 600 f4 II
1/80, f5.6, ISO 4000, Flash, tripod. Full frame.

I tied this perch to a spare tripod near a feeder and before long the birds started using it.
The hard part was the very low light and the very quick birds.

    C & C appreciated.
    Thanks.

Amazing looking bird, Sid. Nice pose and great detail, well captured.
I would tone down the bright leaves and the bright yellow legs, if it were mine.

Very nice bird and good job on capturing it. Nice pose and BG and I like the choice of perch with the large leaves. ISO4000...I can't do that with my camera. Well done.

Hi Sid, just love those colours on the little guy, and he certainly stands out against the darker BG. I like how the perch meanders across the frame, and Im in two minds regarding the the triple leaf. On one hand it balances the comp, but can also see a version without it, and I feel you wont lose any impact. Great use of the high ISO. Great work Sid.

I have to agree with Stuart 100% on this. I am not sure about the 3 leaves.
I think I would evict them and create a tighter pano,

Thanks folks for offering a different perspective. I actually chose this image because of the leaves :)
I do have others in nicer light, on different perches, but to me the leaves added balance and also showed how small this bird is (those leaves aren't too big - I guess that's not obvious without some other frame of reference)

A lovely specie and love the leaves (orquid) as they add to the image. ISO 4000 is quite high but the image looks perfect and with no significant noise. Pretty good job.

My eye did investigate the leaves, but I keep coming back to that beautiful blue bird and I feel like the leaves tend to balance the frame. Interesting how we all see things differently. Good job on the techs.

Excellent image, and check out those techs...low light indeed! I love the image design, and the dark BG works really well.
