    Default Snow Bunting.

I drove to this spot in the hope of finding the elusive Lapland Longspur among the many Horned Larks and some Snow Buntings.
This time the weather was mild with overcast sky and foggy.
I had to get rid of some color casts and I put a catch light into the eye.
    Thanks for looking.

Karl, This looks perfect to me. Love the bird, your exposure which shows some detail in the snow (I think there's even more in there that you could extract), nice blacks, but the snow on the beak is what makes this image for me.

    Very well done.

Beautiful white on white; perfectly exposed and has a nice feel overall. The snow on the beak is awesome. Nice one, Karl!

Well done Karl! The added catchlight looks natural. I like the erect profile pose, and the hint of detail along the ground.

Beautiful high-key feel and a gorgeous bird. I really like the icicles on the beak. Nicely done Karl.

Great shot love the high-key look. I think it could be even better with the head high dark spot on the left edge of the frame and the beak height one on the right side taken out. The shadow under the bird add a lot to it.

Beautiful image Karl Lovely lit colours on the bird which blend perfectly with the BG. The pose is perfect and the snow on the bill adds interest. Great work

Karl this looks spot on, bit of snow on the bill adds interest, like the way you have added the catchlite, would love to know how you did that.

    Thanks Keith, thank you all.
For the catch light I used the clone stamp. I chose 2 pixel size and 70% opacity, and then I picked the snow anywhere in the background and copied it over to the eye.

Nicely done! The snow on the beak really makes this image. Exposure is spot on for the snow too

I like this image as presented. I think you could maybe get more detail from the snow if you wanted to, but that would ruin the high key effect of the shot, which along with the ice on the beak are two of the most important parts of the shot for me

Hi Karl, excellent exposure throughout the image, sharp, and just love how the colours pop against the winter BG.
