    Technique: Tripod flat to the ground and mounting my camera on my gimbal head.

    Attraction Aides: none

    Post Production: Highlight recovery and shadow boost due to the early morning direct sunlight straight on one side of the Tern. Some minor sharpening on the bird and noise reduction to the background.

    Scott:

    Nice DOF for such a long focal length setup. It is generally hard to make a tail on shot like this work for dof reasons.

    Great POV.

    I like the feeling of him looking towards the sunrise.

    Whites on throat are still pretty warm, probably in the 250s in some areas.

    I find the large rock on his left just bright enough that it pulls my eye a bit much, at least for my taste. Could easily tone it down a sliver.

    Look forward to more. My bride and I went to Sydney for our honeymoon, and have very fond memories of it. Stayed at a tiny B&B across from the opera house. The B&B is long gone unfort., but we won't forget our great time there.

    Nice rich light you got here. Good pose from the tern. A bit tight in the frame IMO, did you also take some wider images? Ditto Randy's other points.
