Taken a while back on a local canal in late afternoon. This little grebe was very amusing practically completely twisting and shaking itself out of the water. C&C welcome.

    Geoffrey:

Fun pose, flying water, color harmonies.

The background is pretty busy and thus the reflection in the water is too.

I might try to crop a bit tighter to reduce the impact of the background and reflections on the bird, and possibly a gentle softening of contrast in the other areas that remain (except the bird of course)

    Certainly does fit the theme!

    Cheers

Cute little guy in a typical winter environment here in the Northeast. The background is heavy though so pano-ing this image might play it down somewhat without ruining all the flying droplets.

Thanks, Randy and Grace. Took another look and I agree with you both. Grace, think cropping to a pano does help in reducing the impact of the BG without the loss of to many droplets. Here's a repost.

Certainly RP looks superb. Very nice bathing pose with flash of water droplets.
    Beautiful composition.
