Smoke plume from burning incense. One flash.
Fun forms to catch in the instant of the flash.

Wonderful shapes, curves, colors. They glow against the black bg. That tip of red makes me smile. I suppose you got the black bg by using flash. How did you get the outlines of the smoke curls to stand out? Very nice.

Thanks Anita! The smoke is kindly translucent and the light finds its way through to the shapes flowing at that instant. Changes continuously. It is the quickness of the flash that freezes the shapes you normally can't see. I hung a black BG and position the flash from the side to enhance the contrast.

Love this, the smoke is seductive in shape and colour, enhanced by the black bg, and that little ember just really stands out for me. Great for the theme.

Hi Steve, it's cool to see the source of the smoke in this one, and the little spot of red is a nice nod to the theme. Congrats on your IOTY!

Love your smoke images. Including the source to comply with the theme is creative.

Always fascinated by your smoke images. This one, with the ember, has a special touch of anchoring the smoke.
