Last week I saw both Avocets and Coots with their chicks but unfortunately the light was dismal and my glass wasn't/isn't long enough. However, this is one I tried to save just because I like it:) ---it looks like there was a sibling squabble and Mom is patiently listening to the the "story." It's a big crop and lots of little PP adjustments but perhaps it will bring a smile?

Do like the interaction Maybe I wish the other baby was looking in the direction of the mom. I do like the selected crop and how you managed a good bg for those guys !! ...... would have looked good with a 500 and 2X !!!! Neat !!!

Yes, Katie, enjoyed the picture very much! I've never seen coot babies so seeing them in your image is a treat! Lots of coots where I shoot, so maybe if I look sharp I'll find some babies one of these days. Thanks for posting, even if it isn't perfect (I have plenty of those too!)

    Hi Katie,
I like the composition and the interaction captured. I would suggest on cloning out the reed that comes out of mom's head and the reed that comes out of mom's body...

Interaction is great. I like a photo that tells a story. Well done Young Lady . . . Gus
