Decided to rework one of my older cormorant images. (You can tell just how old by my equpiment.) Your feedback would be most appreciated.

A fine, stong image with excellent colors and textures. The dark feathers look like a fine fabric. As I study the comp, I would like just a fraction more on the right hand side (to move the eye in a tiny bit) I'd also clean up the small white dots on the feathers. Then print it and frame it....really lovely, Marina. Has a mood to it, a sense of mystery, which I like.

I wanted the eye in as well but it didn't work with the background behind the top if the birds head. I probably tried 10 crops before finally deciding on this one which is fairly large. It's not exactly what I was striving for but I am still pretty happy.

I like this image a lot! We have Western Mediterranean shags with the same eye colour.

Agree that you should print and frame it!!

Nice one. I think the comp works as is. Great details in the dark feathers wich makes for a nice contrast to that colorfull face. I like that the head angle is in alignment with the feathers

Hi Marina, I like these type of images, and that ' steely' green eye pops against the darker feathers, which in turn arent too shabby with regards to detail. Well thought out.

This is fantastic Marina! What a great print it would make. You should try a acrylic print for this one because the details are so awesome. The thing I like best about this, besides the beautiful comp you chose, is the etching of black around each feather.
The emerald green eye stands out against the dark bird so well. Great work and an even greater eye!

    Marina:

Strong image graphically with the diagonals, repeating lines, pop of color from eye, textures. If you have the room to work, I could see a version with the eye down and to the left just a sliver.

    Well seen.

    Cheers

I like it, different than ordinary, marching to a different drum. Your image gives me ideas for future outings that I may have passed by. Thank you for sharing.
