Hi Jonathan, great quality and sharpness. The perch and the BG are lovely. I love the expression on the birds face. Good work

I wish the foot was still, but that is pretty minor.
The perch and IQ is very nice.....

I like the stomping foot...it lets me know what's going on. I personally would reduce the sharpening on the breast and wing. Sweet perch!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I have noticed that when processing with DPP4 the image can look over sharpened when applying my usual regime in Photoshop. The other point I have to bare in mind is that the birds are close and this camera and lens is capable of capturing very fine detail. I end up sometimes going back to the raw file and reducing the Strength and Fineness sharpening by 1, and even then additionally reducing the output sharpening in Photoshop.

Hi Jon, great fun behaviour here - like a naughty kid not getting their way. The fine plumage detail shows up very well, and the open beak adds. Love the coloured lichen on your perch, and the colours of the BG arent too bad either.

Im surprised you achieved so much motion blur on the 'stamping' foot woth your 1/1000 ss.
