    Default "Green on Green"

Here's a Drake Shoveler flying past a green BG at the location of our upcoming workshop. Lucky to get him at the right angle to show off his beautiful wing and speculum colors.
I went there Sunday with five other friends and we all shot a lot and got a bunch of great flight frames.
It was pretty active with plenty of ducks starting to get nice color and the drakes are getting flighty and aggressive with a bit of testosterone in their systems. Lots of fast Teal action too. We had tons of fun trying to keep up with all the action.

Thanks as always for looking and for your input. I appreciate it.

Exquiisite, Dave and I like the placement of the bird in the frame.
    The colors are spot on......

Wow they really don't come much better than this, something to aspire to I'd say - well done.

Very impressive frame, David. The drake is magnificent against that green BG. I personally wish for a tad more room above and left if you have it.

Hi David, another killer in flight pose with the wings at max downstroke. Tack sharp all round, and I really like the various colours on this Shoveler. The eye pops so well from the greens of the head, and how is that BG. Congrats on a fine capture.

    Superb shot.
    IQ awesome as always.
Love the wing position and the slight head turn towards you.
I could see a version with a crop from the bottom to create a pano.

Thanks so much everyone for the comments. I appreciate it.

Gail, I did create one with more of a pano out of this one also. Thanks.

Man, as you know we have an over-wintering male of the species up here, and unless I want tons of mallards in the FG and BG I need to go for tight close-ups. I love the colours and wing patterns!

Checks all the boxes for sure. I can only repeat Alan's comment: Best I've seen of this species. Outstanding.

I'll chime in with my superlatives as well, Dave. Super image and the color of the background adds to the overall appeal.

Gorgeous Shot!!!! I went to San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary today and was disappointed there really isn't much going on as a lot of the ducks have moved on.
