I added some textures, put it two different presets in Fractalius, and finally some distortion in Analog Efex.

I've seen these Bleeding Hearts growing wild throughout most of central Ontario, I've just never really been successful photographing them.
I like the composition and how the sharp flowers in front, blurred flowers in background create a diagonal through the image. Well done

I wondered about doing something to get more separation between the foreground and background but -- after trying several things -- decided I like it the way it is. Both the colors and the feel from the textures are great, and I agree with Paul about the diagonal. Very nicely done.

    Jackie.

Greetings. I particularly like the color and the composition (and the title!). Intrigued by Dennis' idea of increases separation, I thought maybe just a bit less texture on the central cluster...

from the OP heavy noise reduction then Topaz Detail medium and large detail (localized contrast skipping the fine detail).

Just a thought... the lesser texture adds a bit of 3D to my eye. Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

I like your repost Michael, thanks. It does have more of a 3D look to it. I appreciate you taking the time to work on it.

Jackie, I like the composition with the diagonal line. The soft texture and muted colors are calming. Kudos to Michael for the effective subtle change.

I'm partial to the OP. I love the softness of all the elements, giving this a very romantic feel. I also like all the repeating curving shapes, the bleeding hearts themselves and the curving branches and lines in the translucent green leaves. A beautiful blending of the textures & techniques to produce a beautiful image!

Love that title. I like both versions--each has a bit of a different feel. Lovely composition. Beautiful colors and shapes. I like the many diagonal lines. If it were mine, I'd remove some of the texture from the main flowers, and crop slightly from right and bottom. It has a dreamy feel to it that is very pleasing.

Very pretty Jackie, and I like the original. I feel that the added sharpness detracts from the overall soft look of the image and find nothing wrong with that concept. The complementary colors work really well and the textures give a nice painterly look. Well done.

Thanks for the comments, I guess it is take your pick. Anita, I considered taking some off the bottom, but I liked the darks as I thought it gave it more depth.

I think it is an image that works many ways.
