Having spent the whole day freezing outside today for a few token shots, (although I now know for definite where my barn owl lives ), I thought I would post something to keep in-line with todays temperatures. Shot a while back, I would have shot this differently now, with both hindsight (Exposure & DoF) and gear. This guy was so chilled and relaxed, seemed to be enjoying the warmth, but can easily over temp too.
Thanks for either viewing or commenting on the previous image. Dumay, may thanks for the update a sad loss if that is right, but wonder also about the cub too.
Cheers
Steve

Thanks guys, it's warmer today Anette as the wind has dropped, beautiful blue sky, water in the fields is frozen, things have hunkered down apart from the wee small birds and the Sparrow hawk taking another bird in the garden, so nows it back in the warmth. You & Rachel can understand why I like my bears so much.
Cheers Sanjeev, you should schedule a trip in, you would love it, but I know you have more pressing plans in the pipeline.
Hi Steve where is blonde bombshell on the PB fur , and i miss the fireplace in the BKG ?
I like this a lot , the PB does look quite elegant compared to your last PB posting , ok the POV was quite different .
Good tonal range with nice warm colors and very nice fine detail . It is a pity you could not extract more detail from the eye without looking unnatural . The snow/ice in the FG .... well i would try to loose a bit of sharpening to me it looks a bit crunchy , but not much though . A very minor nit , plus i would loose some of the top to get rid of the darker areas and go for a bit more pano style , just my take , but your call .
The colour of the bear's fur makes me think of honey and gold, Steve. The light is just so beautiful, the pose so elegant, tonality is superb. Perfect framing. You know how much I like this, I would write a story now if it wasn't close to midnight...
Have a super week-end, I am now switching off the computer and going to sleep, I might dream of bears or maybe leopards, or lions, who knows?
Hi Steve - I like the long, elegant lines of this bear. Beautiful golden light though I wish the face was in the same light rather than shadow. Any where the bear looked forward so the light was there? I also would back off on the sharpening of the snow in the fg. I think it distracts from the bear. You seem to be easily talking yourself into another bear trip.
