Amazing colour tones and clarity here, Gabriela! It's rare to see their eyes as clear as this and you used it well.
I like Anette's crop most...

Super eye contact and details/textures. Love the clearly visible eye without many long lashes obscuring it. Like it a lot. TFS.

Hello Andreas - of course I do not mind, and I do see a lot more "POP" in your RP - thank you!
My question is - and has been for some time - where does one stop with the "pop" ? When does one say "this is enough"? There are so many ways of processing an image, some of them "too complex to explain” as you yourself said, and the amount of software available nowadays is (to me) rather overwhelming. My work flow is - as you know - quite simplistic yet somewhat effective IMO, for I do manage to arouse some interest with some images, mostly in terms of content but hopefully also PP work. My aim is to make you connect with my subjects, and these days I try not to depart too much from the original when it comes to PP work. At times I see myself as a bit of an experimentalist when it comes to photography, and yes I do know the basics, at the same time I am fully aware that as long as I share my work with you - my BPN critics - they’ll never be good enough and some will never be fully satisfied. In the same breath, I believe I am better now than I was yesterday but there is so much room for improvement - so I thank you once again for taking the time to view, comment, and post this lovely RP - although I am reluctant to change things right now, I am excited and enthusiastic about the thoughts you have encouraged in me - love your enthusiasm and participation, as well as your PP skills and knowledge - I really appreciate your input at all times, thank you my friend
Warmest regards,

Hi Gabriela you are very welcome as you know from my side . There is no such point when it is enough or not enough , and i think it is very good that there is no such point , because if all would follow the same route .............. man that would be very, very boring !!!!!!
We all have our ways and prefs and my RP is just one , and not THE ONE !!!!!
In the end one should just invest as much as he/she can into an image , with little help from my friend , one can maybe get a bit more if one wish
. If not his/her call !!
In this case no other software used than plain PS , no plugin , just a number of tonal steps and some blur filters ........ yes blur filter !!! But this goes too far now !!
I am glad you like my RP and that what it is about for me !!! But do not forget you are the one who took the image
Cheers Andreas

Hi Gabriela, I like this a lot.
Cracking detail, but it's the overall light, colours, shades and tones within the overall image I really like. I think either crop is acceptable, just depends on your POV. As you know, I will always suggest the simple route which IMHO avoids overdoing things, or just pushing it too far, but again, it's just what you wish to convey ultimately, however there are times where just a little more can always tick all the boxes. You can always do the overnight test and just hold fire before posting just to ensure you are absolutely happy with the overall image. I think you should be very please with this.

Hi Gabriela. Well you certainly don't see elllie's eyes like this too often. You've captured a truly magnificent image in my view - love the detail and the light. Some very good ideas added in this thread and I must admit it's hard to decide on the best RP, as they are all great because of the image they have to begin with. All the best

Dear Anette, Morkel, Andreas, Steve and Charles,
I would love to write my usual lengthy story but I had a long day at work today and some more preparations for the KTP trip afterwards, so I cannot wait to put my head on my pillow.:) I just wish to thank you for taking the time to view, comment, and also RP - you are amazing and I truly appreciate your feedback
I am departing on Friday early morning for the Kalahari - it takes longer to prepare for this camping trip than you can imagine, much longer than the trip itself and of course the expectations in terms of sightings and photography are rather high...I have (at times) experienced disappointment in terms of wildlife sightings, but still returned home inspired by what I saw, feeling privileged to discover some amazing landscapes and having witnessed events that led me to worship this majestic place. Will be back at the end of February and hopefully share some images with you...Meanwhile, wishing you happy days and lots of photographic opportunities
Warmest regards,

Hi Gabriela - You are already in the Kalahari so won't see this for a couple of weeks but I too really like the tones and detail here. Either crop works for me as well. That eye is kind of freaky. As Morkel said, it is rare to see an ele's eye in the clear like that. I hope you are having great sightings in the Kalahari.
TFS,
Rachel
