This doesn't need more red or anything else. It's beautiful just the way it is. I like the composition, the square format, and the outline. The ripples in the reflection are a wonderful touch. The perspective is good, too, with the lengthening of the reflections in the foreground and shortening of them in the background. The image engages the mind as well as the eye. I can't help but think about the reflections being so different from a simple flip in the way the sections of the reeds intersect and overlap. The reflection of the reed in the upper right is fascinating.

I love images like this and shoot them whenever I see one, but this is the best one I've ever seen. Dennis said it all -- just gorgeous!

I found this quote today which is appropriate for this type of image (and by my favorite author):
"Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Great quote! We all have that urgency to "do more" with a photo and must learn that such is not always best. I, too, like it--and your title is right "a little"

What a beautiful quote -- I need to remember that! One of my quests in photography and processing is to simplify.

Cheryl,
Greetings. Simply beautiful. My inclination would be toward a slightly different framing and a different chop placement. The general idea:

The image reminds me of Japanese calligraphy & the chop placement above is as a signature (the right twig) would appear... Just a thought.
Cheers,
-Michael-

Totally, totally love the simplicity of this!! I think I like the position of your "little red" a little better in Michael's version.

Prefer OP. Agree with comments already made. The effect of the ripples is my favorite part.

Very Zen like and peaceful Cheryl. If a chop is meant to be a part of the picture, then I would say I am partial to Michaels' version. The effect of the ripples is lovely.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Michael, I like your chop placement and the added room up top. Thanks
