Default Red Breasted Nuthatch in classic pose

    Red Breasted Nuthatch
    Nikon D300
    Nikkor 300mm F4 AF-S w. 1.4 Nikkor Teleconverter
SB-800 for fill light (still trying to get the hang of flash as fill)
    beanbag for support

    Manual Exposure
    F8
    1/1600
ISO 640 (i could have gotten away with 400 or even 320)

Crop down to about to approx 2400X3600 pixels and resized to 600X800. Used Capture NX ...some control points used to lighten underside of bird. also some selective sharpening on bird only. looking at this photo i think i may have neglected to add sharpening to beak.

comments and critiques welcomed! thanks for looking! :)

I like the pose and the bg is also very good I may want to pull back on the sharpening a bit as it looks a little over on my monitor

    good job overall
