    Default Early morning Egret.

This is a Little Egret, and I captured this early morning during my holiday in Cape Town. He was flying along the lagoon, and depending on the height of the flight path, one can capture any flying subject against either a water BG, a sky BG, or this BG - the golf course on the other side of the lagoon.

Killer exposure on the whites and the BG colors make the egret pop beautifully.
    IQ is awesome.
A bit of a head turn would have been awesome but this is still wonderful,

Lovely image Stuart. Here we would call that bird a Snowy Egret.

    Stu:

Agree with the others, excellent whites, nice bg, full down wing position. Just a sliver of a head turn towards us would have been nice.

    Cheers

Perfect positioning and exposure too A good case for having a little something in the back which would be blurred with the panning and so indicate the speed of the bird. Just my penneth.

Thanks John. The BG is as shot from camera. It was quite a distance, thus everything OOF as posted.

Thanks a stack everyone else for your feedback.

Hi Stuart, Excellent shot with a perfect wing pose. You nailed the exposure. That vibrant BG makes the Egret stands out. Well done as usual.

Perfect soft light for a white bird! Your exposure and sharpness are on the spot, Stu. Lovely details and you can't go wrong with a BG like that.
Well composed and placed in the frame. HA mentioned. Super frame!
