Shot this at a lake about an hour from Memphis. I noticed a perch this bird seemed to keep coming back to, so I just approached slowly and it let me get close enough for a shot RIGHT before sunset.

    Techs:
    D3S
    700mm
    1/2500
    f/ 5.6
    ISO 2500

All C&C appreciated. I cloned out a little bit of the perch as this was a frame or 2 after he took off. A little better HA wouldn't have hurt my feelings either.

Good work Lyle, the lighting is lovely. Lovely image I just wished the HA had been a wee bit better. Well done

Hi Lyle, great take off shot with the raised wings, and captured in lovely late light. I do like that BG. Comp wise, I would add a bit to the top, and take a little off the LHS.
