    Going through previous files I came across this Turkey Vulture that had just landed to join others feasting on a deer carcass. C&C welcome.

    D3s, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 tc, 1/800, f 7.1, ISO 800, Hand held from car.

    It'll be hard to get some love for this guy here. Nice detail on the head and I like the light and patterns of the far wing.

    I don;t often see these guys on the ground, so I appreciate the look here. Nice grassy habitat. The backlighting works OK in this case to get the feathers lit nicely. I do wish the front wing was opened up more though.

    Thanks Steve and Daniel for your comments. Daniel I know, for it might have shown a bit more translucence in the lighter wing feathers.
