Default Love the hairdo, but your complexion could use some work!

Muscovy Duck taken with the 7D2 paired with the new 100-400; this is a killer combination IMO! I'm off to Costa Rica this weekend for my annual workshop with Greg Basco, and I'm planning on using this lens and body pairing extensively while there. I hope to have a field report on the 7D2 when I get back to the states.

Canon 7D Mark II, 100-400 mm II @ 400 mm, f/9, 1/3200, ISO 400, manual exposure, hand held

Doug, this is simply stunning. The detail and colours are spot on, fantastic sharpness almost to prime levels! Very nicely composed too! I have the new 100-400 II, am on the fence reg the new 7D II though. But seeing Artie, Rachel and your images with the 7D II I am keen to take the plunge! TFS.

Classy hairdo for sure! Awesome details in those perfect whites. I also like the remnant feather son the bill from preening. Good luck in CR!!

Thanks Sanjeev. I had focus issues with my first two copies of the 7D2, but my third copy is doing great. Here's a 100% RAW file crop to give you an idea of the sharpness directly out of the camera. Default DPP processing only.

Hi Doug, well, you simply nailed this. Excellent whites, and the detail on the reds of the face show up incredibly well, and tack sharp. Of course, the blue BG sets this off nicely.

Have a great trip to Costa Rica.

Fantastic details and sharpness Doug. Great work.

Did Canon explain anything re the focus issues? Just wondering, as I bought one and wondering if mine has the same issues.

They didn't find anything wrong, but I only had problems with my 600 II and my 1.4x III. AF with the other lenses worked great. I sent them the body only, so they couldn't test the combination.
