    Feldfare in Snow

Another through the room window. I,ve left the screw bolt in as its been on that old phone pole for thirty years. I;ve done dozens of birds on it and become quite attatched. We will see but I imagine most folks will want it out !

Probably one of the nicest shots of a Fieldfare I have seen of late. They are quite hard to get close too at times. I don't mind the bolt but feel that the area around the eye and under the beak is a little over lightened.

I can understand your attachment for that bolt, but artistically it looks better without IMO...however, I prefer the exposure of the first image. Very nice BG and falling snow, snow-covered perch, pose. The best part is the snow cap! An odd digital artifact is present just above your signature. Easy fix.

Hi John, love the wintery setting here, and not a bad pose either. Before reading Dan's comment, I too feel your OP is a better image with regards to exposure. Love the snow covered perch and his snow cap puts this up a few notches. Your OP with the bolt removed would enhance the image even more.

Hi John, great looking bird, I have tried, but yet to get a decent shot of one. I think somwhere inbetween your posts would be perfect. I like the perch and the HA, esp the snow landing on the head Looks really good, well done.
