    I took this at Chicago Botanic Garden. He didn't want to leave his tree.

    Nice head turn and nice pose,I would prefer a more uniform bg

    Hey Sid,
    nice composition. and good details on your bird. As far as the background goes, I would blend out more the thick branch by the tail section, and the vertical branch by the bird's head...:eek:

    The OOF branch merging with the tail, and the vertical one behind the head are the two main negatives here. Some fill would have helped with the darker tones on the belly and lore. Nice pose though, and I like the thin perch (except for the thinner hanging part at the end).

    Sid,

    Moving left and up/down may have improved the BG. Since the bird is black and it appears the light was soft, more exposure compensation would have gotten you better details in the bird. Position and posture of the bird is good.

    I agree with the above comments but do like the pose and head turn you captured in this image Sid. Many thanks for sharing.
