    Not really, actually 1 o'clock in the afternoon.
    Best viewed in a dark room.

    1/2500, iso1000, f5.6, D610, 340mm (70-200 w/ 1.7 tc), HH

    Not an easy subject to expose but you nailed it perfectly. Great detail on the blacks. I love the calm mood.

    Beautifully exposed shot! Great details in the blacks in hard conditions. I like the pose and the low angle. I think you have been a bit to quick in ps while reducing the noise. It looks to me that there is a halo around the birds neck and that you lost all detail on the water so that it is never in focus. I understand that you want to highlight the bird but this just makes it unnatural for me.

    Pretty cool image here Dan! I love the overall dark tones. There is a small discreet pale patch touching the coot's head that I would certainly touch up. Other than that all is super.

    This is beautiful I really like the lighting and the colours super detail in the bill and in the dark plumage. Evern though the image is dark overall I think this would make an excellent print.
