    Default Greater Flamingo

Greater from Little - The world of opposites!
Birding trip to Kutch, India cannot be completed without some images of the flamingos. These birds are shy, alert and not great posers which makes life tough for someone who wants to make some quality images of it. The best tactic is to wait (flat on the ground) before sunrise and let these ballet dancers come close to you, wait, come closer, still wait, let them get busy with their heads in the water, wait and wait untill something special like this happens! Once you get something like this you know that your wait was worth it! The beauty of shooting a Greater Flamingo in the Little Rann of Kutch - Greater from Little !!

Very nice image. I like to see the underwing feathers. Excellent pose.

I love the low angle, water action at the feet, and the FG/BG. A bit fuller wing spread would have been ideal but still pretty cool as is. I'm wondering if the image is a touch too saturated as posted. There can indeed be a lot of waiting in bird photography...it looks like it was worth it!

Great pose and lovely layered BG. Fully raised wings would have put this over the top. I like the strong colors, but also wonder if they're just a bit oversaturated.

Thank you guys, I agree with the bit on the saturation part but just something that i have noted in the past while photographing these birds from this area is that images from here, if not saturated, do not enhance the beauty of this place. It works for some and doesnt for others.
