Hi Sanjeev - You handled what looks like intense light well. I like the inclusion of the entire shadow. Very nice detail and sharpness too.

Golden light is gorgeous and I feel your sharpening and IQ is about as good or better than I have ever seen from you. Nice work.

Hi Sanjeev, Rachel & Dumay again have summed up my initial thoughts, my only fear about Peter's suggestion regarding a vertical crop is you loose the soft shadow which I think is an integral part of the content, but worth exploring, keep your options open.If you want to just perk the whites up a fraction, then a mid tone Curves adjustment 50/45 just adds a bit more pop IMHO.

Hi Sanjeev very nicely seen in the field , love the inclusion of the shadow of the subject , not that much of the tree in ULC . But not much you can do about it. Nice tones and colors and well handled sharpening , are you using "my" methodology with the separated sharpening layer ?
Good thought by Steve regarding mid tones but i would exclude some HL and SH from that curve adjustment .

I think you pretty much nailed this one, Sanjeev! Beautiful soft light and great detail - pity about the shadow in the upper left corner, I would try lighten it a bit. I even considered a slight crop from the top, still pondering over this thought...I like the shadow of the hyena though![]()
I love those spotties - enjoyed viewing, very muchTFS!

What do you think, Sanjeev? Hope you do not mind, and no problem if you do not like it - I cropped a little and then cloned out the shadow of the twig. Lightened slightly the reminder of the shadow. A quick one and by no means perfect, just felt the shadow was a bit overpowering and this gorgeous little hyena deserved all the attention...
Hope you delight us with more hyena images
Kind regards,

Gabriela, I don't mind it at all! In fact thanks for helping me with the image. I like your RP and just taking off the twig on the ULC elevates this image. Appreciate it.
Thank you Sanjeev - you are always such a Gentleman, and so kind with words.
As I was busy "borrowing" your image to give it a try, I wondered what was your position regarding cloning...I am on the fence, so to speak. I do not clone unless really necessary. While I was "eliminating" the little twig I was actually thinking that every time I clone away something I am adding to the image elements that weren't there in the first place. Perhaps - in this case- just lightening the shadow was enough. Not sure, but let us keep playing:) it helps us remember to see the little details when pressing that shutter next time
Hope you have a wonderful evening, once again thank you for sharing your lovely sightings as well as for your input - I do appreciate your opinion and comments at all times![]()
