    Default One Tripod, Two Heads?

When traveling by air and wanting to limit space/weight by bringing only 1 tripod (3530/5540) and wanting the option to switch between a full Wimberly and a Ballhead, what is the most efficient way to accomplish this ? Is it much help to use the Gitzo GS5120LVL leveling base where the lever tightens everything up nicely?

    Thanks! Bill

I switched to a ballhead and sidekick because it was too much of a hassle for me. That's for a 500mm though, I wouldn't use the same for a 600.

I am with Chris on this one. Kirk BH-1 and Sidekick offer the best and most versatile combo to me. Suitable up to a 500mm (I wouldn't use it with a 600mm) and when I want to do landscape I just remove the Sidekick et voilā!
