Default Whiskered Tern diving for breakfast

    Attached Images Attached Images

I captured this Whiskered Tern in early morning light under an overcast sky. The next frame shows the bird bobbing up with a small fish in its bill but I rather like the simplicity of the frame I am showing.

    Canon 5DIII + 600 mm f/4L II + 1.4x III extender, hand-held.
    Manual, f/7.1, 1/4000 sec, ISO 2500.
Processed with DPP4 and PS Elements.

Critical feedback welcome, thanks for looking.
    Regards, Ian

Now that's different William ! There ought to be a section for action stuff!! Very well caught indeed. You could almost use it horizontally too !!

Cool image, I would take some off the top, make it uniform top and bottom and it works well as a pure abstract......

This would be great on the wall in one of those 'all-white' rooms some folks have!

Oh that works well. A new perspective on a diving Tern. The still water was huge bonus. Nice timing on this one.

This is a very cool image Ian, I like it, makes you wonder what's under the water. I wonder if you have one with the head showing too?

Thanks for your generous feedback Arash. The birds were diving for small fish. The next frame shows the tern coming up with a small fish in its bill but the surface of the water is much more disturbed and the image is not as aesthetically pleasing.

Neat lookin image Ian. I have a few similar ones in my files but the water isn't as still, which makes this image special. Nice looking reflection and a good job on the Vision

Hi Ian, good action here, and I really like the clarity of the entry splash. The extended wings look great, and you managed a great reflection too.

I love this Ian. I agree with Dan about taking a little off the top, but I would just go ahead and convert this to black and white while making sure you get some contrast in your blacks and whites.
