Hi Rod, welcome to BPN!!! I fixed the image link for you. You ned to copy the image's URL, the one ending with ".jpg" (not the page's one). You can find that by right-clicking on the image and viewing the properties. You are lucky too that my fix created a thumbnail as that usually only happens when uploading to BPN's servers.
That's a very beautiful cardinal you present. Very good details. The reds are tamed but look good (it can be easy to blow out the red channel with this species). Good pose. The perch is OK and the setting works despite being quite busy. The only thing for me is that I would have preferred the composition to have more room in front of the subject.
Good first post, and looking forward to more.
Daniel thanks for the suggestions. I need all the help I can get, My wife and I are just getting started in bird photography.
Rod
You're welcome! You are both off to an awesome adventure...bird photography is fun and highly addictive.
I tried to post a second photo and the whole post was deleted.
To post a photo do I copy the url and add .jpg?
Here is an image from my pbase website..what am I doing wrong?
Thanks Rod

I like the sharpness and the nice exposure on the red, i would increase maybe the stauration a bit more on the red. I agree that more space in front of the bird would be better. Normally a square crop is not ideal for bird photograghy.
Also with a bit of patiance the leaf on the birds head could be cloned out.
